Two different minimums
- Factory MOQ: the smallest run a production line will set up for, per style or colour.
- Fabric MOQ: the smallest amount a mill will dye or produce, often hundreds of metres.
How to start smaller
- Use stock fabrics or available colours instead of custom dyeing.
- Launch fewer styles with more depth instead of many styles with few pieces.
- Share fabric across several styles to reach the mill minimum.
- Work with ateliers that accept small runs — usually at a higher unit price.
What to ask a factory
- Is the MOQ per style, per colour or per order?
- Can sizes be mixed within the minimum?
- What is the price difference between the minimum and a larger run?
